Our love and commitment in Christ knows no bounds.
Our Leaders
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
– Romans 8:28
Designated/Interim Pastor
He was born in Moline, Illinois to two Tae Kwon Do masters. After graduating from Augustana College, he went to seminary at Chicago Theological Seminary, where he finished his studies in 2017. Since then, his ministry has taken him all over Illinois and Iowa, including Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, and Davenport. Now, he and is pet plant, Norbert, are excited to join United Church of Byron on this new adventure! Pastor Tyler begins his ministry with us on September 1.
Carla is one of two great Secretaries we have at the United Church of Byron. Carla is a member of the Meal Ministry Committee and sings in the church choir. She is the church newsletter editor and offers way too much grace to stragglers who have trouble getting material to her by the deadline. Carla is an avid Ice Hogs (and Blackhawks) fan, so don’t even think of scheduling an event that would take her away from an Ice Hogs game. Not gonna happen.
Marsha is not only a secretary but also a leader of our UCB Fellowship, the resident church photographer, member of the Fundraising Committee, and Memorial Committee. She was a key member of our 175th Anniversary Committee, and is an active part of the Photo Archive Committee. She is the church bulletin editor, so get those changes and additions in by Thursday morning! Marsha is known for having a penchant for purple and a fondness for the Chicago Cubs. Some things cannot be helped.
Youth Ministry Coordinator
He brings over 10 years of experience working with youth and churches. Most recently he was with Stronghold and coordinated their Summer Camp programs for area churches. Richard is married and lives in Leaf River with his wife, Samantha, daughter Raelynn (2 1/2) and son Oliver, (5 months).

Choir Director

Our church council consists of the Board of Stewards and the Board of Deacons.  The Stewards are vested with the care and custody of church properties and the financial affairs of the church. The Deacons minister to the spiritual interests of the church as they cooperate with the Pastor in the maintenance of worship services including holy communion.
